How do you use the 'Creates New VSCB Device' function in NB plugin or standalone?

I am trying to create a new device for use in my app just like in Arto's sample web application. However, I don't see how to do it, or any documentation about this.
I don't understand how Arto's sample web app made and uses the 'shop' device. How do you add it to your existing application? How was the device made in the first place? It doesn't show up as a device in NB or the standalone as far as I can tell.

Also, why do none of the other devices in the apps folder from last semester show up as devices in the standalone or NB plugin?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks,

For creating new device you should do:
1. select current active device for enabling "Create new Device" button, and click it when enabled
2. after button clicked you can draw device in the Buildap Graph Editor view like in paint program.

Thats all, for creating new device,

For adding existing device use "Add Part" button with + sign, it will open File chooser then navigate it to the device and it will be added.
